SINUSITIS

"Some guinea pigs are very susceptible to this condition. One of the main causes for it is bedding. Sawdust and wood shavings can cause sinusitis, among other problems. Also old and dusty hay can be as bad as sawdust or shavings."

FOR MORE INFORMATION -- http://www.oginet.com/pgurney/sinusitis.htm

ADMINISTRATOR'S NOTE *** Sneezing, and wheezing can also be signs of a URI.***

-----S----- Empty The Senses

Post  Admin Sun Mar 15, 2009 11:12 am

Hearing.
"Guinea pigs hear really well. "They can hear sounds up to 30 kHz in frequency, well beyond the human limit of 20 kHz"."

Smell.
"Though they don't smell as well as dogs or cats, their sense of smell is still considerably better than humans. They can recognize other guinea pigs by scent, and their human owners as well."

Sight.
"Guinea pigs have eyes mounted on the sides of their head, which gives them a tremendous angle of vision. This is necessary for survival, as it allows them to spot predators from nearly any direction."
